Founded in Remshalden, Germany, in 1948, FMW Friedrich has specialized in riveting technology for more than 70 years and is the pioneer of radial riveting. Four Proven Riveting Solutions for Diverse Applications

01 Radial Riveting

The riveting head follows a hypocycloid motion, progressively forming the rivet through point contact. This provides gentle force application, uniform material deformation, and minimal impact on precision components. With low noise and heat generation, radial riveting produces a smooth surface finish and is ideal for solid, miniature, and special-shaped rivets in medical devices, precision hardware, automotive door locks, and other high-precision applications.

02 Orbital Riveting

The riveting head rotates at a fixed angle, providing efficient forming for hollow rivets, flanging, and large-diameter rivets. With a wide application range and high forming efficiency, it is well suited for automotive safety components, medical devices, and high-end precision parts.

03 Press Riveting

This process uses no rotational motion, relying on high axial force to form the rivet and fully fill the workpiece hole, creating a strong load-bearing joint even in deep or recessed locations.

Applications: Solid rivets and riveting applications requiring high shear-load capacity.

04 Roller Forming

Roller forming enables the assembly of bearings into housings while meeting requirements for structural strength, sealing, and chip-free processing. The material is progressively formed through multiple rolling passes, with axial and radial forming processes combined as required.

Applications: Bearings inside housings, fastener locking and retention, and tube diameter reduction.

FMW Nietcontrol

Intelligent Control for Every Riveting Process

The third-generation FMW Nietcontrol system features an industrial touchscreen and supports seven riveting stop criteria, with independent parameter settings for more than 63 riveting points. Target and actual values are monitored in real time, while length and offset measurements detect misalignment, dimensional deviations, and abnormal riveting forces. Barcode scanning and vision inspection can also be integrated for full process traceability and Industry 4.0 production management. Servo models operate without hydraulic or pneumatic media, making them suitable for clean and environmentally sensitive production environments.
