Assembly Decryption丨ESC Electronic Stability Controller Assembly and Testing Line

Today, a customized ESC (Electronic Stability Controller) assembly and testing line is introduced. This production line integrates automatic loading and unloading, fully automated wave soldering, as well as assembly and testing. It ensures both the precision of the assembly process and high efficiency, representing the advanced level in the current automotive electronics manufacturing industry. The ESC system is a crucial active safety technology in vehicles, helping drivers maintain vehicle stability through real-time monitoring and automatic intervention. It effectively reduces the risk of losing control. The quality of this system directly impacts the overall vehicle performance and safety, thus placing high demands on the manufacturing process.

Coil Pressing & Spring Assembly

After loading, the coil is pressed into position by pressing equipment, while simultaneously completing the precision assembly of the spring. This step uses force control technology to ensure consistency and reliability in the assembly process.

PCBA Programming & Board-level FCT Testing and Assembly

In the core board assembly stage, the production line automatically completes the installation and fixation of the core board, ensuring precise alignment with the PCB. The system also automatically performs programming and board level functional testing (FCT) to verify that the basic functions of the PCB are operating correctly, ensuring the quality of core components from the outset.

Selective Wave Soldering

Fully automated selective wave soldering equipment is used to precisely solder through hole components. The equipment automatically checks the welding condition, significantly ensuring the consistency of solder joint quality while reducing manual steps.

AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)

After soldering, the product enters the Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) stage. Using high-resolution cameras and image processing algorithms, the system automatically inspects solder joint quality and component assembly accuracy, ensuring that the ECU meets the required physical specifications.

Plasma Cleaning

Before the ECU circuit board cover is assembled, the shell undergoes an airtightness test to ensure the vent valve functions properly. Plasma cleaning is then performed to effectively remove surface particles and oils, providing a clean surface for the subsequent glue application process, ensuring adhesive adhesion.

Glue Application & Glue Inspection

The production line automatically applies glue to the sealing cover. A precise dispensing system controls the amount and path of glue, and instant glue inspection is performed. A 3D camera checks for glue breakage, overflow, and other defects, ensuring the reliability of the seal.

ECU & HCU Assembly

The tested ECU is then assembled with the HCU (Hydraulic Control Unit) to form the complete control module.

High-Pressure EOL Testing

High-pressure End-of-Line (EOL) testing is performed, simulating the high-pressure working conditions during vehicle operation. This comprehensive final functional and performance verification ensures that the products meet 100% of the design specifications before leaving the factory.

Core Advantages of the Production Line

This ESC Electronic Stability Controller assembly and testing line offers several key advantages:

  1. High Level of Automation
The line is highly automated, significantly reducing manual labor.

  2. Cost Reduction
    It greatly reduces labor costs.

  3. Automation Across All Assembly Processes
The entire assembly process is automated, improving overall line efficiency and stability.

  4. Visual and Sensor-based Monitoring
The production line uses visual inspection and multiple sensor systems to monitor and manage data throughout the entire process, including positioning, inspection, force control during assembly, and airtightness testing. This ensures product quality consistency and traceability.
